Jeannè Kapela, Miss Hawaii 2015, set to Perform at Big Island Chocolate Festival

We’re thrilled to announce that Jeannè Kapela, Miss Hawaii 2015 (and a local girl who graduated from Konawaena High School), will perform at our festival at the gala on Saturday, April 28. Jeannè, who is a Native Hawaiian performer and activist, was raised on a small coffee farm in Kailua Kona.

Jeanné will perform four different dances, which you can only see at the gala fundraiser  so hurry and get your tickets today!

She is the founder and Executive Director of UNITE Hawai'i,  a victim services organization devoted to preventing sexual exploitation through education. She has studied with the San Francisco Ballet School, the American Ballet Theatre, and the Boston Ballet School. She has also worked as a legislative aide at the Hawai'i State Capitol and co-director of American Renaissance Academy's FAME performing arts program. She currently teaches classes at Kona Dance & Performing Arts.  Jeanné is a candidate for the Hawai'i State House of Representatives from District 5, which runs from North and South Kona to West Ka'u.
