The 2017 Culinary Student Competition will be held at the 6th Annual Big Island Chocolate Festival at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel to included students from four Hawaii culinary colleges competing under the expert guidance Chef Donald Wressell and Chef Teresa Shurilla.
The 2017 Culinary Student Competition is seeking college students to participate in the 6th Annual Chocolate Festival at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel on Friday, April 28th from 9 am-2 pm.
“We are bringing in some amazing professional and celebrity chefs for the 2017 event who will be judging the students,” says Kona Cacao Association President Farsheed Bonakdar. “The judges will sit down with the students and look at their chocolate entries and give them advice on presentation, quality, taste, texture and craftsmanship. This type of advice from nationally recognized chefs is invaluable.”
Festival organizers are currently seeking sponsors to help defray expenses of students wishing to travel to the competition, compete and get first-hand advice from professional chefs. Organizers are also encouraging college-level culinary professors to connect with us to have their students compete in 2017. Please contact Farsheed directly to learn more at (808)324-6100.
