What do chocolate, Big Island chefs, a culinary arts program and an amphitheater have in common? The 2nd Annual Big Island Chocolate Festival being held on Saturday March 23, 2013 at the Fairmont Orchid!
The 2013 Big Island Chocolate Festival is presented by the Kona Cacao Association, Inc. and will feature chocolate demonstrations, as well as an evening gala. The evening gala, expected to draw almost 500 attendees will feature gourmet savory and sweet samplings, live music, and an opportunity to purchase unique island experiences, local artwork, professional services and more at our silent and live auctions.
We invite you to participate in this exciting culinary event by donating to the auction, and by doing so support two important community projects and showcase your business to hundreds of residents and visitors. To make a donation, please complete the enclosed form and mail or fax it to us. Donations are tax deductible. We will acknowledge your donation with a thank you letter, which will be your receipt for tax purposes.
The auction at the evening gala will benefit two important educational programs in our community – Kona Pacific Public Charter School and the Culinary Arts Program at Hawaii Community College at Palamanui. Hawaii Community College at Palamanui will be the University of Hawaii’s first permanent physical campus on the west side of the Big Island. Funds from the auction will help support the “Equip the Kitchen” campaign to equip Palamanui’s culinary department with modern cooking equipment.
Kona Pacific Public Charter School is a Waldorf inspired charter school in Kealakekua. Kona Pacific offers a rigorous academic education through the arts and integrates the Hawaiian culture and agriculture studies into its Waldorf curriculum. Funds from the auction will support the development of a community amphitheater at Kona Pacific.
Your timely response would be appreciated as we work to coordinate a very successful auction. We will make arrangements to pick up any items if necessary. For more information about the silent auction, please call Danielle Hadjes, Festival Director at 808-854-4890 or email Info@BigIslandChocolateFestival.com
We thank you in advance for your support of these community endeavors to make West Hawaii a better place to live.
Sincerely,
Farsheed Bonakdar
